The color of the honey is reddish like brandy. It has a heady smell, reminiscent of liqueur, and a characteristic taste like caramel with coffee. Its texture is liquid and in winter it becomes fine crystal, which facilitates its use as a spread. The origin of this variety is in the Halkidiki peninsula in Macedonia.
